At Efesan Group, we believe that sourcing minerals in our supply chain from responsible and ethical sources is critical to both environmental sustainability and respect for human rights. Illegal mining of minerals such as tantalum, tin, tungsten and gold (3TG) can finance conflict and potentially lead to human rights abuses. Therefore, adhering to the principles of conflict-free and responsible mining at all levels of our supply chain is a key priority.
Objectives:
· Not contribute to human rights violations, illegal activities and environmental damage,
· To ensure a sustainable and ethical supply chain management.
As Efesan Group, with this policy, we are committed to increasing the sustainability of our supply chain and acting in accordance with ethical and social responsibility principles. With our responsible procurement approach, we aim to strengthen our long-term relationships with our business partners and to maintain a production process that respects human rights.
Efesan Group expects our business partners to share the same responsibilities in order to avoid any actions that contribute to the financing of conflict. In this context, we expect our business partners to act in accordance with the “OECD Due Diligence Guidance for Responsible Supply Chains of Minerals from Conflict-Affected and High-Risk Areas” standards.
We expect our suppliers and business partners to fulfill the following points;
1. Collaboration, Transparent Supply Chain
· Use only minerals from conflict-free zones,
· Transparent reporting from suppliers on the country of extraction of minerals, mine location and smelters,
· We aim to minimize risks by cooperating with suppliers that carry potential risks. If these risks cannot be minimized, to terminate their cooperation with such suppliers,
· When a situation related to conflict minerals is detected in the supply chain or a risk is foreseen, to contact ethical reporting channels and, if necessary, to stop cooperation with risky suppliers,
2. Ethical Standards and Legal Compliance
· Resist any offer of bribes to conceal or alter the origin of minerals in our supply chain,
· We expect our suppliers to act ethically in this regard and to stand against unethical practices such as bribery, money laundering and illegal activities,
· Take all necessary measures to prevent money laundering in the trade of conflict minerals and comply with international and domestic legislation
In case of non-compliance with the conflict minerals policy, Efesan Group provides the opportunity to report these violations using ethical reporting channels. All reports of ethical violations can be made to the relevant ethics hotlines.
