Purpose and Scope
As Efesan Group, we are committed to carrying out the purchasing processes in our supply chain in accordance with environmental, social and ethical values. Our Responsible Supply Chain Policy aims to create a supply chain that respects human rights, is environmentally sensitive and supports ethical business practices by adopting sustainability principles.
This policy aims to ensure that our suppliers and business partners promote responsible sourcing and sustainable supply chains, and act in accordance with international standards on important issues such as women’s rights, equality, diversity, human rights, environmental protection and combating corruption. This Policy also aims to guide the selection and monitoring processes of Efesan Group Business Partners. The acceptance and implementation of the Responsible Supply Chain Policy is a contractual obligation. In the event of serious violations, contracts with suppliers may be terminated. Our suppliers are expected to inform their suppliers about this policy.
1. Human Rights and Social Responsibility:
Our business partners are expected to carry out their commercial activities in accordance with the Efesan Group Human Rights Policy.
Women’s Rights: All our business partners in our supply chain are expected to respect the rights of women and promote gender equality in the workplace.
Ethical Recruitment: All recruitment processes are expected to be carried out ethically and transparently. The principles of fair treatment, equal opportunities and respect for human rights must be adhered to in the recruitment of employees.
Diversity, Equality and Inclusion: Our suppliers are required to implement policies that prevent all forms of discrimination and to support diversity, equality and inclusivity in the workplace.
Land, Forest and Water Rights and Forced Evictions: Our suppliers are required to respect land, forest and water rights and to stand against forced evictions.
Child Labor and Young Workers: We take a firm stance against human rights violations such as forced labor and child labor in Efesan Group processes. Our suppliers must take measures to prohibit child labor and respect the rights of young workers. Fair Wage and Benefits: Fair compensation and social rights of employees must be provided.
Working Hours and Leaves: Our suppliers must set working hours in accordance with legal regulations and respect workers’ rest periods.
Modern Slavery: Our suppliers are expected to adopt a zero-tolerance policy against modern slavery and forced labor practices.
Freedom of Association and Collective Bargaining: Employees’ freedom of association must be respected and their collective bargaining rights must be respected.
Non-Discrimination and Harassment: Our suppliers must develop and implement policies that prevent discrimination and harassment. No form of physical, verbal, sexual or psychological harassment, bullying, abuse or intimidation will be tolerated.
Health and Safety: Our suppliers are expected to take the necessary measures regarding occupational health and safety and to ensure the safety of their employees.
Conflict Minerals: Suppliers and business partners are expected to act in accordance with the Efesan Group Conflict Minerals Policy. Necessary measures should be taken to prevent the use of conflict minerals and to ensure that the correct notification is made to our relevant company if they are to be used.
2. Ethical Business Practices and Legal Compliance
Anti-Corruption and Anti-Money Laundering:
Our suppliers are expected to adopt a zero-tolerance policy towards any form of corruption and money laundering and to act in accordance with the principle of transparency.
Financial Responsibility (Accurate Records):
We require our suppliers to ensure that financial records are maintained accurately and transparently.
Disclosure of Information:
Our suppliers are expected to disclose necessary information transparently during business processes while maintaining confidentiality.
Counterfeit/Replica Parts:
We ensure that measures are taken against the supply of counterfeit/replica parts within our supply chain. Suppliers shall provide products and services in accordance with the criteria specified in the contract and in their original form. They shall not use counterfeit parts or materials.
Export Control and Economic Sanctions:
Suppliers are required to comply with export controls and national/international economic sanctions.
Whistleblower Protection and Protection Against Retaliation:
All stakeholders in our supply chain are expected to develop policies that ensure the protection of whistleblowers.
Data Protection and Information Security:
Suppliers must comply with national and international regulations concerning the protection of personal data and information security.
Fair Competition and Antitrust:
Our suppliers are responsible for ensuring fair competition and compliance with antitrust laws.
Conflict of Interest:
Suppliers are expected to implement policies that prevent conflicts between personal and commercial interests.
Intellectual Property:
Suppliers must respect and protect the intellectual property rights of Efesan Group and third parties.
3. Environmental Sustainability
Compliance with all applicable environmental regulations, including Efesan Group’s Environmental and Energy Policy, is expected.
Greenhouse Gas Emissions:
Suppliers are required to take measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and to set targets in this regard.
Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energies:
Suppliers are expected to adopt energy efficiency practices and invest in renewable energy sources.
Decarbonization:
Reducing the carbon footprint and developing decarbonization strategies should be among the priorities of suppliers.
Water Quality, Consumption, and Management:
Suppliers are required to carry out activities to use water resources efficiently, reduce water consumption, and protect water quality.
Air Quality:
Suppliers are expected to take measures to minimize air pollution.
Responsible Chemical Management:
Suppliers are expected to develop proper management policies to ensure the safe use of chemicals and to prevent their harmful environmental effects.
Sustainable Resource Management:
Suppliers are expected to implement practices that promote the responsible use and sustainability of resources.
Waste Reduction and Recycling:
Suppliers are expected to adopt sustainable waste management strategies to reduce waste and implement recycling practices.
Reuse:
Suppliers are required to develop processes that promote the reuse of products and materials.
Animal Welfare:
We value the adoption of practices that protect animal welfare throughout our supply chain.
Biodiversity, Land Use, and Deforestation:
Suppliers are expected to develop strategies to protect biodiversity and take measures against deforestation.
Soil Quality:
All stakeholders in our supply chain are expected to implement practices that protect soil quality.
Noise Emissions:
Suppliers are expected to develop policies that reduce noise pollution.
4. Supply Chain Management
Maintaining Standards Throughout the Supply Chain:
Suppliers are expected to ensure that their own suppliers (Tier -1 suppliers) also comply with binding requirements in line with sustainability and responsibility principles.
Violations and Sanctions:
Efesan Group reserves the right to terminate business relationships with any supplier or business partner that fails to comply with this policy. Corrective measures will be taken in case of non-compliance, and business relations may be terminated if necessary. Efesan Group’s ethics reporting channels shall be used to report violations and ensure communication. Business partners are also expected to establish effective communication channels to report violations and take necessary precautions in a timely manner.
